01 · Why are you running for Kelowna City Council?
Changes are needed in Kelowna.
Too Much:
1)Crime
2)Homelessness
3)Taxes -
02 · Issue #1: the issue, the specific actions you would take, and how City Council can actually influence the outcome.
Accountability:
The only accountability City Counsel has is to the BC and Federal Governments. They need to be held accountable to those who vote them into power especially when the other two entities are doing wrong. If you can't do your job properly, lose your pay or get fired. -
03 · Issue #2: the issue, the specific actions you would take, and how City Council can actually influence the outcome.
Property protection:
ALL forms of property must be protected. Especially land rights. What's going on with the BC Government when giving land away must be stopped. They have no authority when it comes to land claims. City Counsel must do what it can for property owners to protect property rights. -
04 · Issue #3: the issue, the specific actions you would take, and how City Council can actually influence the outcome.
Transparency:
1) Our Council has not been transparent for a number of years now. They have removed the public voice from council by demanding advance notice of what your complaint might be. Then decide if you can speak.
2) All meetings must be available to the public. There no national security threats at the municipal level of government. All records must be made available to the public. -
05 · What experience, skills, and community involvement do you bring to the role?
I have been in Kelowna for over 50 years and in many differing fields of work. The knowledge I have gained over those years and changes seen will be invaluable over others that have just started here.
-
06 · How will you approach council decisions when priorities compete for limited resources?
That will be determined on what recourses and where they are going.
-
07 · How do you work with people who see an issue differently than you?
Facts and truth need to be put forward from both sides and a decision must be based on that.
